Brand New EP, "STAND" has finally arrived!

Well, the day has finally come.  We are able to share our new EP, "STAND" with you all.  We are very proud of this new project.  It has given us a chance to showcase a little bit of our softer side without forfeiting our usual energy and bounce.  Let's take a little walk through the tracks, shall we?
-Up first, "OVERTAKEN"
For fans who have been following us for awhile, this song represents our pop/punk side pretty well.  All of the energy and intensity you're used to with a message of surrendering to God's will in the lyrics.  This song was actually written before our last EP came out.  We were excited to finally be able to record it for your listening pleasure.
-2nd is our first radio single from the EP, "Falling All Over"
This song has a softer, yet punchy drive to it.  Revolving around a droning "A-string" throughout most of the tune, this song fits the old adage, "keep it simple, stupid".
When I wrote the song, I wanted find a way to say a lot without saying a lot.  Does that make sense?  The entire inspiration for the song was birthed out of a desire to make sure we stay excited about our relationship with Jesus.  Refusing to "get used to it".  Sometimes you just have to fall in love all over again, and again, and again.  You get the idea.
-Next up, "Going Through The Motions"
Here's a fun little ditty!  I(Ben) actually got to pick up a mandolin for the first time and play a few licks for this one!  It starts out with a bluegrassy kinda feel, but just when you think you know where this is going, it changes course drastically and you're smacked in the face with some good old fashioned pop/punk.  Lyrically its about searching for something more than just tradition when it comes to worshiping God.  It's so easy to sort of get in a routine and forget to actually pursue God with an authentic desire to simply be in his presence.  You can find yourself singing the songs, lifting your hands, doing all the "right things", but when all is said and done, you were just going through the motions. Here's the key line: "I want to be a man who's after your heart.  I want to feel alone when we've been apart.  Want every day to feel brand new, with you."
-Song #4 "Never Again Is Now"
Okay, I know what you're thinking... "Didn't you guys already release this?' Well, yes.  But here's the thing... When we initially released this song, it was EXTREMELY rushed.  We had just written it and we had to get it ready for Glenn Beck's "Restoring Unity" event.  So we jumped into the studio and get it together in like no time at all.  So when we were putting together this new EP.  We decided first and foremost, it simply belongs on a project titled "Stand".  I mean the song totally encompasses what this CD title is really all about.  And secondly, now that the song had gotten a chance to marinade in our brains we had some more things we wanted to add in the studio to spice it up a little.  Beefier guitars, bigger drums, more harmonies, ya know, the usual.  Anyway, we're very pleased with how it all turned out.  Hope you agree!
-Lastly, "Just Like Grace"
Now this ballad may be our biggest departure yet from the sound and style that you're used to getting from us.  This was a song I(Ben) wrote for my wife the night before we got married and played for her the first time right before we said our vows.  Musically, this song is all about acoustic guitar and cascading harmonies.  Brady went with brushes on the kit for most of the song which shaped the entire feel of the tune.   I got to have some fun experimenting with "guitar swells" which our studio engineer/producer Sean Rogers said sounded like orcas trying to communicate in the depths of the ocean.  It's builds up at the end with full band, but maintains sweet laid back vibe throughout the song.
Key line: "Just like grace, I didn't deserve you"

So that's it!  A glimpse into the content and background that  makes up our new EP, "STAND".  Thanks so much for your continued support, whether it's coming out to shows, bringing us out to your church or music venue to rock faces, inviting us to your home to host acoustic house shows, or simply following us online and purchasing the music.  We couldn't possibly do this without all of you lovely people.  We love you all and hope you enjoy STAND.

-Ben
